A 14-year-old boy, Timothy Amosun, died after a rainstorm destroyed Mayigi Community Comprehensive High School in Ilase, Ogun State, on Wednesday.
The boy was in Junior Secondary School 3.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Lekan Adeniran confirmed the incident in a statement he issued.
He said five other learners, two teachers, a food vendor, and her seven-month-old child were injured.

He said Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed shock over the incident, praying to God to give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
He said the governor stated that the government would be responsible for the medical bills of the injured, adding that he had directed the concerned agencies to move the victims who were in critical condition to specialist hospitals within and outside the state, where they were already receiving maximum medical attention.
He also mentioned that he had directed the Commissioner for Education to visit the families of the victims and the school to take inventory of what needed to be done to rebuild the damaged school.
